Highly regarded for his business acumen and customer service, Scott Kelly has excelled as the owner of Kelly’s Dry Cleaners in the Farmington, New Mexico since 2014. Offering a full range of services for dry cleaning and laundry, including leather and suede care, wedding gown preservation, alterations and repairs, and native care, Kelly’s Dry Cleaners works to ensure that each customer is treated like family, and provides convenient pick-up and delivery services. Upon relocating to Farmington, Mr. Kelly and his wife, who had prior experience in the dry-cleaning business, noticed the need for a dry cleaner in the area and have been met with great success over the last eight years.
In his role of owning and operating the business, Mr. Kelly oversees daily operations, including running the counter, answering correspondence and managing the staff. In recognition of the company’s excellent performance, Mr. Kelly was honored with the Best Cleaner of the Year Award by the town in 2019. He attributes his success to the support of their clients throughout the years, which makes his passion for the business strong. Dedicated to civic advocacy, he volunteers with the Zion Lutheran Church and donates to local community youth programs, including various sports and rodeo events.
After completing coursework in business management at Dickinson State University, Mr. Scott commenced his career working as a diesel mechanic with John Deere and Wagner Equipment between 1985 and 2020. During his tenure with John Deere, Mr. Kelly was named the Mechanic of the Year in 1997 and was honored with multiple awards for his mechanical abilities. Likewise, he had also conducted outside work as a mechanic in Glenwood Springs, Colorado for two years. Looking toward the future, Mr. Scott hopes to grow the business and be able to serve a wider clientele, as he plans to open two new stores in Pagosa Springs and Cortez, Colorado. Additionally, he hopes to grow their professional accounts with hospitals and resorts as part of their expansion.
